I like this guy, but now my gorgeous friend starts talking to him. I am no match compared to her.?

Basically, every time I meet a guy, this girl comes along (supposed to be my best friend) and starts chatting them up.. I don't know what to do because if I confront her about it, she'll tell them I am obsessing over them and she will try to put them off of me. When all I want, is to be able to get to know a guy without her interfering. She is practically perfect, so I know that when she comes into the scene, I'll go unnoticed. He told me he had feelings for me a while ago, but I don't want to ask him in case he thinks I'm badgering him too much. How can I get the guys attention and keep it?
