What happens when a computer transformer is short circuited?

I like the idea of using the computer power supply. Both the 3.3 volt output and the 5 volt output should work. I used one for plating and had to add a 1 ohm resistor to load the 5 volt output just to keep it on. one Ohm 5 volts is 25 Watts, I used a 3 foot length of safety (stainless) wire and put it by the fan.
