Powell-Rove-Rush-Cheney?
Well, I think it has to do with style and as one person said, the choice of words the individuals use to make their point. Just as there are liberal and moderate Democrats, there are conservative and moderate Republicans. The differences matter far less when the party is in power, and it is then exposed when they are not. If, for example, Powell and Cheney were both US Senators, you would find them voting exactly the same 90% of the time. They might reach their conclusions in entirely different ways, but in the end the vote would be the same. Powell has a more inclusive and moderate approach to issues, Cheney especially in his older age, has become less tolerant, at least in the way he comes across. Remember, before he became Vice President and the focal point for the hatred of the left, Cheney was a well-respected senior statesman. Cheney's choice of words is incendiary while Powell's are not. Powell is simply more liberal and anytime a party is out of power, a struggle occurs to determine the future dominant ideology within it.
