May I please ask what alimony is?

alimony is something that was mainly used years ago, after a divorce. a man had to keep the woman in the lifestyle she was used to having. he had to pay her. dont know if women had to pay men alimony, cant see that! most states in the u.s.a dont do alimony anymore, because the woman can get a job. when she did collect alimony, it would be stopped if she remarried
