I reinstall windows vista because my computer F UP and made a file called Windows.old?

ok i install it again and it erase my memory but made a file called Windows.old will i be abe to reinstall again and browse and load that drivers and use that file to get my stuff back or is it impossible now or do just copy and paste the stuff into my new computer
