What if the world we live in doesn't exist?

Just think for a moment.You are a fish. You live in your tank and know nothing other than the gl boundaries surrounding you. You can see outside of your tank at the world around you, "space", yet have a distorted perception of it. What if humans and the universe as we know it were in this "fishbowl" paradox and we are all merely part of a similar situation as the pitiful goldfish? Any thoughts or comments?
